Bike In York
In conjunction with National Bike Month and the League of American Bicyclists' Bike to Work Week, the Eat Play Breathe York Transportation Task Force of organizations and cycling citizens will host Bike In York Week in May 2012. Bike In York Week, May 14-19 includes group rides, education events and a week of bike commuting throughout the city. Participants who log their miles will receive discounts from various city vendors, an event T-shirt and the opportunity to win prizes. Eat Play Breathe York, an initiative to improve nutrition, increase physical activity and decrease tobacco use through policy, systems and environmental change, will use the week long event to increase multi-modal transportation opportunities such as dedicated bike pathways.

We at rabbittransit are very excited about this year's Bike In York Week initiative. This is a great way for people to learn more about other modes of transportation. All of our buses are equipped with bike racks and we see more people increasing their mobility as they connect these two modes together to go greater distances.

The YMCA strongly supports this year's Bike In York Week. We believe that bikes provide a healthy alternative to motor vehicle transportation, and through biker and driver education, can provide safe and affordable recreation and commuter options. We appreciate the community support in this initiative.
